Dubrovnik

Departure is early in the morning. We drive in a van over the Makarska Riviera, Baćinska Jezera (lakes), the Neretva river and near the island Elafiti. We arrive at the square Pile in front of the old town at cca 10 o’ clock. Refreshment. Professional drivers are at your disposal all day. Dubrovnik is the southernest city in Dalmatia, on the border with Montenegro.

Dubrovnik has always been a special city, once upon the time it was a republic with a very interesting political system: for example, the mayor / governor is elected for a period of one month for the prevention of corruption and has dedicated its efforts only to benefits of Croatia . In the main street Stradun there are several restaurants. Also, in Dubrovnik, you should not miss:

  • Walking along the 2 km-walls surrounding the old town
  • you can drink from the spring Onofrio, one of the most famous monuments in the city.
  • Sponza palace, one of the most, magnificent buildings of the city, a mixture of Gothic and Renaissance architecture. At the eastern end of the column, there’s a bronze statue of a medieval knight. According to legend, Orlando rescued Dubrovnik from the attack of Saracens and defeated the invaders near the island Lokrum.

At 17 o’ clock you have time to explore the city by walking through the narrow alleys, squares and museums, or relax in one of the many cafes or restaurants. At 19 o’ clock we are back to the van, we arrive about o’ clock.
